I have been doing intermittent fasting for last few years off and on. Yes, I get tons of benefits from it. But I never recorded how and what to do on IF. I thought I should share my story so that many of you might get the benefit.
This is DAY1 of 31 days of IF. Here is a thing. IF is NOT a diet. It’s just different way of eating. Like eating 6 meals a day work for some people, eating 2 meals and a snack or no snack work for other people. This is not gluten-free, soy-free, sugar-free although, I do not consume a lot of highly processed foods, I love sweets. And ketogenic diet which is very low carbs and high fat. The point of IF is to have few hours of eating window and longer hours of not eating windows. I am trying 8-16. 8 hours of eating. 16 hours of not eating. and during 16 hours, I would be sleeping half of the time. What . happens when you are not eating, your body starts to burn your own stored fat. During that time, your body uses up stored glycogen in your body and after about 8 hours, your body uses up glycogen and start to look for another energy source. If you eat food, then your body uses it, but if you don’t, it has to burn your fat to create energy. That’s it. There are many studies that IF works magics to your body but same time, IF can hurt some people. Especially you already have pre-existed blood sugar problems, you should consult with your doctor. Otherwise, you should try and see how you feel. If you don’t feel too good, just quit. That is all. You are not going to die trying IF for few days.
